After many reports and leaks, Xiaomi decided
to quietly launch the Redmi K30i during the last week. We say a quiet launch
because the company didn’t make any ground-breaking event to reveal the new
smartphone. Moreover, all attention was set on the Redmi 10X series that
debuted in the same week. Despite this quieter than usual launch, the Redmi
K30i is now available for sale in China. It retails for CNY 1,799 or US$ 252 and
delivers you a solid performance.
The Redmi K30i is quite a curious case.
The handset has essentially no big difference between the original Redmi K30
5G. Still, it’s cheaper than the first device. Under the hood, the new
mid-range contender ships with the excellent Snapdragon 765G chipset, and the
$252 variant has 6GB of RAM and 128GB of Internal Storage. The handset also has
the same 6.67-inch FHD+ display with a cutting-edge 120Hz refresh rate. The
display is of the LCD kind, and for that reason, the fingerprint scanner
doubles as a power button.
The handset supports 5G SA / NSA Dual Mode.
Moreover, it has a 48MP main camera, 120-degree super wide-angle lens, 2cm
macro lens, and depth-of-field lens. Moreover, the handset draws power from a
generous 4,500mAh battery that charges with 30W fast-charging. The Redmi K30i
also supports dual-frequency GPS, Multi-Function NFC, IR Blaster, 3.5mm
headphone jack. Last but not least, it includes Hi-Res audio certification and
P2i life splash-proof coating.
