When the Redmi brand was carved out of
Xiaomi as an independent entity, one of the goals is for the brand to have its
own product ecosystem that goes beyond smartphones. Already, the brand has
launched the Redmi Band, Redmi Washing machine, smart TV and others. Xiaomi is
planning to release three new smart TVs under a new X series.
The Redmi Smart TV X series will be
launched on May 26 alongside the Redmi 10X. Before the launch, Xiaomi has
already unveiled a cool accessory for the smart TVs. It is the Redmi TV
Soundbar and comes with an affordable price tag.
The soundbar features two 45 x 80mm
runway-type full-range speakers with 30W output capacity. The speaker is also
equipped with a duct-type sound cavity. The gadget comes with two connectivity
options, wired and wireless. It can be connected via S/PDIF and AUX wired
connection as well as via Bluetooth. The soundbar features support for
Bluetooth 5.0.
In terms of hardware, the Redmi TV
soundbar is 78cm long, 6.4cm wide, 6.3cm high, and weighs 1.5Kg. It has a
minimalist design and comes in Matte Black colour. The soundbar comes with an
opening at the rear in case the owner wishes to mount it on the wall. It can also
be mounted on top of a shelf.
The Redmi TV Soundbar comes with an
affordable 199 yuan (US$ 28) price tag and is presently on sale on Xiaomi Youpin.
