In the second half of 2019,
Chinese phone maker – Vivo – launched the Vivo NEX 3 5G, a flagship phone with
support for the next gen network standard. Today, a leak from China suggests
the successor is behind the corner; let’s have a closer look!
A new device with model name
V1950A was just seen on Chinese certification site TENAA, on which it received
its network license. According to the Asian press, the handset is an upgraded
version of the Vivo NEX 3 5G with support for SA and NSA dual-mode 5G; the
predecessor only supported NSA mode.
Compared with the NEX 3, the
new version appears to be equipped with the latest and most powerful Qualcomm
Snapdragon 865 CPU. But not only that, the upcoming NEX 3 will also bring super
fast charging. The 3C certification information does indeed show that the next
Vivo NEX 3 5G boasts a new charger with model name V3030A-CN; this charger has
an output of 55W (11V / 5A).
In terms of core specs, the
upgraded version won’t see any other major changes over the predecessor.
Meaning we’ll find a large 6.89-inch waterfall screen with a resolution of 2256
× 1080 and a screen ratio of 99.6% (so far the highest screen to body ratio on
the market). It’ll also be equipped with 8GB of RAM and 128GB / 256GB of
internal storage. We’ll then have three rear camera including a main 64MP
shooter, secondary 13MP ultra wide angle and 13MP telephoto lens; meanwhile at
the front we have a single 16MP selfie snapper. Finally, the smartphone comes
with a large 4500mAh.
We still do not have an exact
release date for the upgraded NEX 3, nor we know its name. But considering that
a wave of Snapdragon 865 flagships will be coming out in February, it’s very
likely we’ll see the handset debut in February or March the latest.
