Samsung announced two new
curved gaming monitors, the Odyssey G7 and G9. Odyssey G9 is available in a
49-inch curved QLED panel while the G7 is available in 27 and 32 inches.
Samsung highlighted that the gaming monitors are the first-ever to use
high-performance 1000R curvatures.
The G9 highlights a new glossy
white exterior and an Iron Man-like glowing infinity core with 52 colors and
five lighting effect options. It is also the first DQHD (Dual Quad
High-Definition) gaming monitor with a 240Hz refresh rate, 1ms response time,
32:9 aspect ratio, a deep and immersive 1000R curvature, and a peak brightness
of 1000 cd/m2.
The G7, on the other hand, has
matte black exterior, color-changing core, QHD 2560 x 1440 resolution, 16:9
aspect ratio, and HDR600 VA panel are complemented by a 600 cd/m2 peak
brightness. It also uses a QLED panel with Quantum dot technology for a wide
range of color and great sunlight legibility. Both monitors have been certified
by TÃœV Rheinland for eye comfort, NVIDIA G-SYNC, and Adaptive Sync on DP1.4.
Samsung said that the new
gaming monitors will be available globally from Q2 2020. There's no word
regarding the price tag yet, but do not expect them to be cheap.
