This year at CES 2020, Lenovo
has introduced two new worlds first products, the first ever foldable PC called
the ThinkPad X1 Fold and the first ever 5G laptop called the Lenovo Yoga 5G.
Lenovo also announced a version of the ThinkBook series with a e-ink display, a
couple of Chromebooks and three new smart home displays.
The ThinkPad X1 Fold was
teased back in May 2019 with the idea of having a device with laptop efficiency
but with smartphone portability. The X1 fold, when unfolded, will be present
the user with a fully flat 13.3-inch display. The device is powered by Intel
Core series processors and will run Windows 10 initially at launch but Lenovo
will ship it the foldable device focused Window 10x later in the year.
The foldable pOLED in the X1
fold will offer many different use cases with the laptop for the user. When
semi-folded in the vertical orientation, the laptop is ideal for reading
e-books while in the horizontal orientation the device can used as a
traditional laptop. When unfolded completely, the laptop is excellent as a
media consumption device or you can use the pen support to create art. Lenovo
also provides the option of a Bluetooth Mini Fold Keyboard if the user prefers
actual button instead of those on a screen.
In the ultra slim laptop
segment, Lenovo has launched the Yoga Slim 7 which can be configured with up to
an AMD Ryzen 4000 Series Mobile Processor with Radeon graphics or an Intel-based
14-inch laptop. The 14-inch model can go up to 4K panel with HDR support and
the 15-inch features a Full HD display and NVIDIA GeForce GTX graphics support.
The Yoga 7 will also be Lenovo’s first series of laptops that will feature the
upcoming Amazon Alexa later in the year.
Another interesting product
that Lenovo announced at CES was the ThinkBook Plus which has an e-ink display
built in to the lid of the laptop. On the back, or rather the front of the
cover lid of the laptop, Lenovo has fit a 10.8-inch e-ink display which users
can use to create illustrations and diagrams with the integrated Lenovo
Precision Pen and receive essential notifications when the lid is closed.
Next we have what Lenovo
claims is the worlds first 5G laptop with the launch of the Lenovo Yoga 5G PC.
The ultra portable 2-in-1 laptop is one of the first to ever include the
Qualcomm Snapdragon 8cx 5G Compute Platform that supports both millimeter wave
full-band and sub-6GHz 5G networks. For graphics, we have a Qualcomm Adreno 680
graphics running a 14 inch 400 nit peak brightness FUll HD IPS screen and for
audio, the laptop has user-facing stereo speakers powered by Dolby Atmos.
In the world of Chromebook,
Lenovo released two new laptops; the Lenovo IdeaPad Duet Chromebook and IdeaPad
Flex 5 Chromebook. The first one is an extremely thin and light Chromebook that
claims a long battery life of 8 hours. The laptop is a fully-featured 2-in-1
detachable device with a 10.1-inch (1920×1200) IPS Full HD display and has pen
support.
The second Chromebook
announced is the IdeaPad Flex 5 Chromebook
which is a 13-inch device that features a convertible laptop design. The
laptop comes with up to a 10th Gen Intel Core i5 processor, up to 128GB PCIe
SSD of storage, 8GB DDR4 of memory, WiFi 6 support and dual front facing
speakers.

Tab M10. Beginning with the Lenovo SmartTab M10, it is a successor to the
previous Smart Tab M8 with a 10.3-inch Full HD screen and two side speakers
that are powered by Dolby Atmos. The tablet comes with a Smart Charging
Station, which stands up your tablet while keeping it charged and turns your
tablet into a smart speaker with a screen with the integrated Google Assistant
built in.
The second device Lenovo
announced was a unique one called Lenovo Smart Frame. As suggested by the name,
it is a 21.5-inch display with a matte screen finish and anti-glare layer that
is designed to be a photo frame. Lenovo has integrated a color tone sensor
adjusts the picture’s brightness in accordance with the ambient light giving a
