Even if it has filed for
bankruptcy in end 2018, Gionee is still alive. In fact, the company has just
unveiled a new budget phone, the Gionee Steel 5. The Gionee Steel 5 uses a
"steel" body a glass-like 3D curved back in Gold and Black colorways.
In front, it packs a 6.2-inch big HD+ 720p LCD. The octa-core chipset is
unspecified, but it will come in 4GB RAM/64GB storage and 6GB RAM/128GB storage
configurations.
The best part about this phone
is the massive 5,000mAh battery that can easily last for more than a day of
use. The charging capability is a bit slow at just 10W though. At the back, it
has a square camera bump to house the 12MP + 2MP dual-cam and the dual-tone LED
flash. In front, it has a 13MP selfie cam in the notch.
There is no sight of a
fingerprint scanner, but it has 4G LTE, dual SIM slots, and Android 9.0 Pie OS
with Amigo OS skin. The details about its price and availability are yet to be
announced.
