vivo has announced a
stylish new mid-ranger, dubbed vivo S5. The
vivo S5 is powered by the Snapdragon 712 SoC that's coupled with 8GB RAM. It
boots Android Pie-based Funtouch OS 9.2 and comes in two storage options -
128GB and 256GB.
The S5 is built around
a 6.44" 20:9 Super AMOLED display that promises a screen-to-body ratio of
91.38%. The display boasts a 2400x1080 pixel resolution and has a fingerprint
reader underneath for biometric security. The
screen also has a punch hole in the upper-right corner for the 32MP selfie
camera.
Moving on to the back,
we get quad cameras arranged in a unique diamond formation. The setup is a
combination of a 48MP main, 8MP ultrawide, 5MP depth, and 2MP macro units. The cameras on the S5 come with a super
beauty algorithm and a poster correction feature which includes 144 poses to
help you pose better in front of the camera.
The vivo S5 is offered
in Icelandic Blue, Phantom Blue and Star Black colors, and packs a 4,100 mAh
battery with 22.5W fast charging support. The
S5 is priced at CNY 2,698 (US$ 385/€ 350) for the 8GB/128GB variant and you get
double storage for CNY 300 (US$ 42/€ 40) more.
The smartphone will go
on sale in China from November 22, but availability in other markets is
currently unknown.
