Earlier this year, Motorola’s foldable smartphone,
Motorola Razr (2019) surfaced in press images on Weibo in China and the prior
to the that, the patent of the display surfaced too. Now new reports suggest
that Motorola could unveil its foldable smartphone by end of this year after
delays.
Motorola apparently aimed at launching the Razr
foldable smartphone during Q3 2019 but missed it. The company is now aiming to
unveil the foldable smartphone by the end of this year but the sales might not
start this year as Motorola wants the press and the public to see their
foldable smartphone first, according to the report. The Razr foldable
smartphone will follow Samsung Galaxy Fold and HUAWEI’s Mate X 5G foldable
smartphone, most likely as the latter hasn’t gone on sale yet.
According to the press images surfaced earlier this
year, Motorola Razr shows resemblance to the iconic Razr handset, but this has
a display on the top and the bottom half that expands to reveal a large screen
along with a visible hinge and Motorola logo on the back. Also, the image of
the box contents that surfaced reveal a charging dock and also a USB Type-C to
3.5mm converter, so the phone won’t feature a 3.5mm audio jack.
The complete specifications of Motorola Razr
foldable smartphone is not known yet, and we should know more information in
the coming months.
