Honor has recently confirmed that its next V-series
flagship phone will be called Honor Vera30. It will be debuting as Honor’s
first 5G smartphone. Parent company Huawei will be debuting the Mate 30 and
Mate 30 Pro smartphones next week. Fresh rumors claim that the display of the
Mate 30 Pro won’t be supporting 90Hz refresh rate. It may offer regular refresh
rate of 60Hz. However, the Vera30 arriving later this year could be equipped
with a 90Hz display.
Various smartphone manufacturers from China are
gearing up to launch phones with 90Hz displays. as it offers smoother visual
experience while gaming, watching movies and regular usage. The OnePlus 7 Pro
that went official came with a 90Hz display. The OPPO Ace flagship phone
arriving next month is also expected to sport a 90Hz screen. The upcoming
Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 is also speculated to come with a display that offers 90Hz
refresh rate.
The Honor V30 will be arriving as the successor for
the Honor V20 phone from last year. The Honor V20 supported 64-bit games at
60fps. Hence, the Honor V30 with its 90Hz refresh rate and powerful Kirin 990
5G chipset will offer better overall display experience.
There is no information on the specifications of the
Honor Vera30. Vague detail suggest that it could be equipped with a
round-shaped rear camera module like the Mate 30 Pro. Like the Mate 30 series,
the Honor V30 may come with the latest EMUI based Android 10 but may lack
support for Google apps. The rumor mill is currently focused on leaking details
of the Mate 30 series that is scheduled to go official on Sept. 19 through a
launch event in Munich, Germany.
