On September 4, at the Honor new product launch
conference, the company released the Honor Band 5 Basketball Edition. In fact, this is the slightly
modified variant of the Honor Band 4 Running Version. As the name suggests, the
Basketball Edition comes with ten basketball data monitoring functions and
strived to make sports more interesting and professional. In terms of price, it costs 129
yuan (US$ 18). This smartband is already available for purchase.
The Honor Band 5 Basketball Version and the Chinese
Basketball Teaching and Research Team of Beijing Sports University jointly
developed a new basketball monitoring function. You can insert it into the shoe
buckle to enter the basketball mode. Thanks to the professional six-axis motion
sensor, our protagonist can record many useful data:
- number of vertical jumps, vertical jump height (maximum vertical jump height, average vertical jump height, and each vertical jump height);
- free time (maximum free time, average free time, and each free time);
- moving speed (fastest moving speed, average moving speed, and moving speed distribution);
- exercise time;
- moving distance;
- heat;
- steps;
- active time and more.
At the end of the game, the Huawei Sports Health app
will also present the performance scores (comprehensive score, bounce score,
mobile score, sprint score, maximum acceleration score, and lower limb strength
score).
In addition, the highly acclaimed professional
running posture monitoring and correction function was retained in the Honor
Band 5 Basketball Edition. In the running posture mode, it can monitor seven
professional data including grounding time, landing method, ground impact,
stride frequency, stride length, valgus amplitude, and swing angle. It is worth mentioning that in
the sneaker-wearing mode with Huawei Sports Health app, the Honor Band 5
Basketball Edition can also be connected with two devices.
The Honor Band 5 Basketball Version sports a
0.5-inch PMOLED screen with a round touch button for more sensitive control.
The main bean uses a detachable design, which breaks through the mindset that
the wristband can only be worn on the hand.
This smartband is made of recycled fiber and has
obtained CONTROL UNION certification. The one-piece woven wristband is tough, giving
the wrist a stronger fit, flexibility, resilience, and breathability. As for
color options, there are six colors of nebula purple, star yellow, seagull
gray, cherry powder, red and denim blue.
In terms of battery life, the Honor Band 5
Basketball Edition uses a high-performance, low-power processor. This helps the
band provide up to 21 days of standby time. But if using commonly, it will last
two weeks. It also has a 5ATM waterproof certificate.
