Cricket Wireless
has just announced it's first own-brand smartphone, the Icon. The device is
made by Emblem Solutions, a rather new wireless device supplier that makes
phones exclusively to AT&T and Cricket customers.
The Icon is a very cheap
handset, which customers can now pick up for just US$ 80. It runs Android 9.0 Go
Edition and it's the first smartphone from Cricket that comes with a 2-year
warranty, double the standard warranty period in the United State. Moreover,
customers who buy the Icon will be eligible for a device exchange-by-mail while
the phone is under warranty.
As far as the specs
go, the Icon is quite decent considering its less than $100 outright price. The
budget-friendly smartphone sports a 5.5-inch display with Dragontrail glass, a
5-megapixel main camera, and a secondary 2-megapixel selfie snapper.
The phone is
equipped with a 1.5GHz quad-core MediaTek processor, 16GB expandable storage
(up to 64GB), and a 2,500 mAh battery. The Icon features 4G LTE, HD Voice, and
Mobile Hotspot support.
