Last year was hard for ZTE – a US ban caused it to
cease operations and though it was lifted relatively quickly, the company
posted massive losses. All of that didn’t faze ZTE, however, and today it
returns to the US market with a bang. The ZTE Axon 10 Pro is now
available for pre-order over at zteusa.com and B&H. Shipments are expected
to start in early September.
It costs US$ 550 – not a bad deal for a phone with
Snapdragon 855, large AMOLED display and a triple camera (48MP main, tele and
wide). The base model comes with 8GB of RAM and 256GB storage, but you can have
12GB of RAM for US$ 50 more. If you need more storage, there’s a microSD card
slot.
The phone currently runs near-stock Android 9 Pie
and ZTE has promised to deliver the Android 10 update before the end of the
year, which may draw the attention of OnePlus fans. The Axon 10 Pro is compatible
with AT&T and T-Mobile. Note that this isn’t the 5G model, which recently
launched in China and Northern Europe.
