At the end of the of year 2018, Vivo had launched
the Vivo NEX Dual Display smartphone with flagship specs. As the name suggests,
it came with an additional display on its rear. LetsGoDigital has come across a
patent filing from September 2018 for two dual display smartphones. The patent
that was filed with World Intellectual Property Office (WIPO) has been approved
now.
As it can be seen in the below images, the model A
and B are two different designs for Vivo phones with dual displays. Like the
Vivo NEX Dual Display smartphone, the model A and B are both equipped with
full-screen display on the front. However, they are equipped with different
rear designs.
The model A features an RGB-lit O-ring LED like the
Lunar Ring selfie softlight LED found on the NEX Dual Display phone. The Lunar
Ring is placed towards the upper-left of the second screen. Its half portion is
embedded in the display. The NEX Dual
Display has the Lunar Ring at the center position. The model B has a smaller oval
shaped LED ring that is placed towards the top-right of the second display. The
camera sensors appear to be placed inside the ring.
Like the NEX Dual Display phone, the model A and B
dual display phone designs do not feature front-facing cameras. The notch-less
design on the front will allow both phones to offer an extremely high
screen-to-body ratio. The front display on both models could be equipped with
an in-screen fingerprint reader. The slim-sized top bezel of the phone features an earpiece. A power
button and a volume rocker are available on the left spine of these devices.
There seems to be another volume rocker on the right edge of these devices.
Probably, the successor of the Vivo NEX Dual Display
could be sporting any of the above shown design. Recently, Vivo had trademarked
VivoX moniker with European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO).
Probably, the next dual display phone from Vivo could be made available in the
market as a VivoX phone.
