After announcing the incoming support for Apple
HomeKit back in CES 2019 in January of this year home security manufacturer
Arlo has this week announced the public availability of the HomeKit service on
its Pro and Pro 2 smart cameras.
If you own one of the companies Arlo Base Station
VMB4000 or Arlo Base Station VMB4500 and update should be available via the
Arlo iOS application allowing you to enable HomeKit support for your devices.
Once installed you will be able to access live video streams directly from the
Apple Home application and places your home security cameras alongside your
other HomeKit accessories removing the need to visit the Arlo application.
Apple is also preparing to roll out their new iOS 13
mobile operating system which will add a new HomeKit Secure Video functionality
that records your smart camera video and uploads it to iCloud. Unfortunately
this feature is not part of the standard HomeKit application and Arlo has not
announced any plans to become one of the manufacturers who support this
functionality.
No news on Apple HomeKit support for the Arlo Ultra
