Google Stadia gaming platform back in March to
instantly play games on TV (via Chromecast Ultra), laptop, desktop, tablet or a
mobile phone at up to 4K and 60 frames per second with HDR and surround sound.
Today the company has finally announced pricing details for the Stadia Pro and
also said that free Stadia Base option will be available next year. Stadia will
work on Chromecasts, Chrome OS devices, Chrome on desktops and laptops, and
Pixel phones starting with Pixel 3 and Pixel 3a series at launch.
A 10Mbps download connection and 1Mbps upload is the
‘recommended minimum’ for 720p/60FPS with stereo sound. 1080p requires 20Mbps
down, while you need 35Mbps connection for 4K/60FPS with HDR and 5.1 surround.
Stadia Pro subscription costs $9.99 per month that
lets you enjoy games up to 4k at 60 fps with 5.1 surround sound, Additional
free games released regularly, starting with Destiny 2: The Collection and exclusive
discounts on select game purchases. The Stadia Base free version will be
available next year will offer up to 1080p gaming at 60fps with Stereo audio.
You need to buy games separately. Some of these include,

Youngblood, Destiny 2, Power Rangers: Battle For The Grid, Baldur’s Gate 3,

Odyssey, Ghost Recon Breakpoint, Trials Rising, NBA 2Km Borderlands 3, Farming

Trilogy, Darksiders, Genesis and Just Dance 2020. The company said that it will
be announcing even more games later this summer.
It has also started pre-orders for Stadia Founder’s
Edition that includes free three-month
Stadia Pro subscription, A Chromecast Ultra, A limited-edition Night Blue
Stadia Controller, A three-month Buddy Pass to bring one friend along for the
ride and create your special Stadia Name for free. The Founders Edition costs US$ 129.99 and is available for pre-order from Google Store in
14 countries that includes USA, UK, Belgium, Finland, Canada, Denmark, France,
Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Spain and Sweden.
The Stadia controller has 802.11 ac Dual-band
(2.4GHz / 5GHz) WiFi, Bluetooth 4.2, 3.5mm headset jack for headsets, USB-C
port for charging, and accessories such as USB-C headsets, Google Assistant
button, microphone, Quick access to image and video capture. It weighs 268
grams. It comes in Just Black, Clearly White and Wasabi colors and is priced at US$ 69.99.
