Xiaomi already teased the Redmi K20 in a Weibo post.
The K20 is a new lineup of Xiaomi’s Redmi lineup that is believed to succeed
the Pocophone F1. The following teaser image is the one that Redmi posted to the
Chinese micro-blogging website Weibo.
We’re looking at the K20 with a holo-reflective
panel on the back and a vertically positioned triple camera setup. This color
choice is reportedly called Flame Red. It isn’t immediately clear if the
backing is plastic or glass.
Soon after the teaser, My Smart Price reported about
a leaked render (below) of the very same smartphone from the teaser above. Here
we get a closer look at the triple camera setup and the Redmi branding on the
back plate as well.
The Redmi K20 is expected to have a large 6.39-inch
AMOLED display and powered by a 4,000 mAh battery. The front of the phone is
expected to have no notch or hole-punch so we are likely to see a pop-up
mechanism for the selfie camera. That front-facing camera is expected to be a
20MP shooter while a 48MP main sensor will comprise the main triple camera
setup.
There’s a telephoto camera with a rumored 8MP
resolution and an ultra-wide camera will feature 13MP, both rumored to have an
f/2.4 aperture. The main camera will be capable of recording 960fps slow-motion
video and 4K capture at 60 frames.
According to the latest report, the K20 will feature
the Snapdragon 855 and up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of non-expandable storage.
The display will be made of Gorilla Glass 6 and have an in-display fingerprint
scanner for security.
The K20 is set to become official on Tuesday, May
28.
