Nubia has been launched
their most powerful gaming device – the Nubia Red Devil in November, with flagship hardware
going from the Snapdragon 845 CPU to the 10GB of RAM (for the top variant). Today,
the company announced a new variant of the handset called RNG Edition.
The acronym “RNG” stands for “Royal Never Give Up”,
which is a Chinese eSports club that competes on League of Legends’s Pro
League, thus it’s a gaming smartphone for the fans of a team we suspect is very
popular in China. The only real difference with the ordinary variants appears to be
aesthetic, we’ve indeed have a signing on the back of the phone from the
various players in the team.
Hardware stays unchanged, with the 8GB of LPDDRX4
RAM paired with a flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 and a nice 128GB of internal
storage. The CPU is then supported by air and liquid cooling systems, which on
paper should drop the temps of about 13.2 degrees, allowing you to run the CPU
at full speed without overheating. In addition to the
extraordinarily good cooling system, the Nubia Red Devil is also be equipped
with a DTS Sound system and a SmartPA amplifier, so games should sound more
immersive than ever.
Finally, it wouldn’t be a gaming phone without a
gimmicky “gaming mode” activated via dedicated button. When pressed, the phone
does indeed improve CPU performance, turns on the RGB lighting and toggles on a
feature called “4D Shock”.
As far as pricing is concerned, the Nubia Red Devil
Mars RNG Edition will cost 3299 Yuan, around with 10GB of RAM and 256GB of
storage can now be purchased in China for 3888 Yuan, which is around US$ 480.
