Louis Vuitton teased last month a new luxury Wear OS
smartwatch, an upgraded version of the Tambour Horizon, a wearable device that
costs no less than US$ 2,500, at least at launch. The only info about the upcoming
smartwatch was the fact that it will be powered by the latest Qualcomm
Snapdragon 3100 chipset.
Now we have the full list of specs and a couple of
more pictures showing the new Louis Vuitton Tambour Horizon. First off, this
looks like a unisex smartwatch, suitable for both male and female consumers. It
will be available in polished steel, matte black PVD, white ceramic, white
ceramic with gem-set horns, and matte brown PVD, but each version will be
priced differently.
Besides the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 3100
processor, the newest platform for smartwatches, Louis Vuitton Tambour Horizon
sports a 1.2-inch circular AMOLED display (390 x 390 pixels resolution), 1GB
RAM and 8GB internal memory.
Also, the smartwatch comes with NFC (Near Field
Communication) technology that will allow users to make payments on the fly
using Google Pay. According to Louis Vuitton, the smartwatch can withstand
being submerged under 30 meters of water.
As seen in the pictures, the luxury wearable device
features a rotating crown, but we also know that it will be powered by a rather
small 300 mAh battery. The only information left out by Louis Vuitton is
pricing and a launch date, but we don't expect the new Tambour Horizon to be
cheaper than the previous model.
