The Mi MIX 3 is a powerful smartphone on paper, but
Xiaomi will release an even more powerful version of it. The Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 5G will use
the newly launched Snapdragon 855 processor with Adreno 640 GPU, X24 LTE modem,
and the X50 5G modem. Snapdragon 855 is the direct upgrade of the current
Snapdragon 845.
Xiaomi said that the Mi MIX 3 5G combines the new
Qualcomm processor together with its modem with some in-house antenna switching
technologies which can reach up to 2 Gbps of download speeds.They even
showcased a demo of the phone connected to the 5G network to browse web pages
and play videos.
Xiaomi will partner with China Mobile in the
pre-commercial tests in China. It is expected to launch in Europe in Q1 2019. The Mi MIX 3 5G should have the same
bezel-less/notch-less screen design, cameras, and other specs versus the
regular Mi MIX 3.Meanwhile, the regular Mi MIX 3 is expected to arrived in the
Philippines this late December.
