Audio engineer Simon Ashton has taken to Kickstarter
once again to launch the second generation Little British Monitor (LBM) MKII
reference micro-speaker system and has already raised the required funds needed
to make the jump into production with still 27 days remaining on the campaign.
The British speaker system is now available to back with early bird
pledges available from £ 279. Offering a 30% saving off the retail price which
will take effect once the Kickstarter campaign comes to an end.
The Little British Monitor is a hand-built, desktop
sized, aptX Bluetooth enabled, fully active, monitor-speaker with
transmission-line bass loading. Simon explains a little more about the design,
specifications in the inspiration behind the speaker system.
The LBM is an audio engineering tour-de-force with
sound quality its primary goal. Most desktop sized loudspeakers use thin
particle board or plastic cabinets, budget drivers with single component
crossover circuits and class-D amplifiers. The LBM is elevated above these
products by the detail of its acoustic and electronic design.
