Huawei has today officially listed its Honor K2 Kids
Smartwatch and has started taking pre-orders for the same. The smartwatch is
available for pre-booking with a deposit that ranges from 20 Yuan to 40 Yuan,
which is approximately US$ 3 to US$ 6.
The company has not yet announced the pricing of the
smartwatch, which will be revealed on 26th December. While the Honor K2 Kids
Smartwatch is available for pre-orders, shipping will commence from 26th
December. This is the same date when the company is scheduled to launch its
Honor V20 smartphone as well as Honor YOYO Smart Speaker. The smartwatch will
be available in two color options — Blue and Pink.
The smartwatch comes with a 1.3-inch TFT touchscreen
with 240 x 240 pixels screen resolution. It packs 4MB RAM and 16GB flash memory
and supports nano-SIM. However, there’s no support for Near Field Communication
(NFC).
It comes with a silicone strap and is suitable for
wrist size of around 110mm to 180mm. The smartwatch is IP67-certified for water
resistance so that it doesn’t get damaged in rain or when the kids wash their
hands. It supports several functions, including address book, voice call, call
record, SOS emergency call, among others.
Along with all these, it also supports functions
such as SMS/message viewing, call notification, weather, stopwatch, alarm
clock, and other basic functions. The device also comes with support to add
friends, start chat with friends, family group chat, and others. As for the
security, it comes with a feature that can locate kids positioning. It also
supports a rewards system where parents can issue rewards and kids are ranked
among friends.
As for the connectivity, the Honor K2 Kids
Smartwatch will be compatible with smartphones running Android 4.4 KitKat or
higher and iOS 9.0 and higher. Coming to the battery, the device is powered by
a 660mAh battery that is claimed to offer seven days of standby time and needs
two hours to get fully charged.
