Apple announced the new 2018 Macbook Air and iPad
Pro and are both now available in the Philippines through Beyond the Box and
their official website. The new MacBook Air features a new 13.3-inch Retina display, Touch ID
fingerprint scanning functionality, Apple T2 security chip and a 20 percent
larger trackpad. It is powered by an 8th generation Intel Core i5 dual-core
processor with up to 16GB RAM, up to 1.5TB SSD storage, and is rated for up to
12 hours of use.
The MacBook Air also features two Thunderbolt 3, USB
Type-C ports. It comes with new speakers with better bass, and more volume that
work together with a three microphone aray for better audio recording
experience. There is a Face Time HD 720p camera for video calls.
While the new iPad Pro with an all new design where
the corners are curved and the sides are flat. It now comes in either an
11-inch or a 12.9-inch model. Inside is the Apple A12X chip with Neural Engine.
A large change is that it now has a USB Type-C port instead of a lightning
connector. The option of either a WiFi only or WiFi with Cellular remains.
Price for the new MacBook Air starts at PHP 74,990
for the 128GB base model. IF you want the 256GB, it will set you back PHP
86,990 For the new iPad Pro the base model starts with 64GB and is priced at
PHP 51,990 for the 11-inch, 64GB model while the 12.9-inch, 64GB model will
start at PHP 64,490.
It can be spec'd up to 1TB with the 11-inch, 1TB
model will cost PHP 98,990 while the 12.9-inch, 1TB model will cost PHP
111,490. These are just the Wi-Fi only models. So expect to pay more for the
cellular models. The new 2nd generation Apple Pencil is also for sale for PHP 7,990.
