Yesterday, Best Buy jumped the gun and put up a
listing for the Misfit Vapor 2 smartwatch. The timepiece was officially
announced today by the company, basically confirming all of the information
that Best Buy managed to post yesterday.
First of all, the Misfit Vapor 2 will be available in two sizes, 41mm
and 46mm. Both are priced at the same US$ 249.99. If you upgrade the band, the
price goes up to US$ 269.99.
The 41mm unit features a 1.2-inch display, while the
46mm model carries a 1.4-inch screen. The watch is powered by the older
Snapdragon Wear 2100 platform, and includes 4GB of storage along with 512MB of
RAM. The smaller model contains a 300mAh battery, while the battery on the
larger unit weighs in at 330mAh. A magnetic charger is included in the box. The
Vapor 2 is compatible with both iOS and Android handsets, and is pre-installed
with Wear OS.
The device comes with a redesigned heart rate
monitor, and a standalone GPS will show you routes for running. The screen
alerts you to calls, texts, emails and app notifications. You don't need your
phone to access the music player and the on-device storage, and the watch is
water resistant to 30M (98 feet). That means that you can wear it while
swimming in shallow water.
