Oppo's sub-brand Realme just introduced its third
smartphone and it's by far it's most exciting yet. Realme 2 Pro comes with a
6.3” Full HD+ screen and a waterdrop notch (that Realme calls Dewdrop), capable
Snapdragon 660 chipset and memory options up to 8/128 GB.
The Realme 2 Pro has a 16 MP + 2 MP rear camera
setup, with the primary sensor being positioned behind a fast f/1.7 lens. The
selfie shooter, sitting in the notch has 16 MP resolution and an f/2.0 lens.
The back is completed by the oval fingerprint scanner and the Realme logo, but
it is now missing the diamond pattern we saw in the Realme 1 and the Realme 2.
The Snapdragon 660 chipset is coupled with three RAM
+ storage options - 4/64 GB, 6/64 GB, and 8/128 GB. The Realme 2 Pro, similarly to
the regular Realme 2, runs ColorOS 5.2, based on Android 8.1 Oreo. It brings
some features like “Easy Screenshot,” Clone Phone, and Smart Play that allows
local videos to keep playing in the background. The phone has 3,500 mAh battery
capacity, but lacks support for fast charging.
Realme 2 Pro arrives in three colors - Black, Deep
Blue, and Light Blue. The prices for India will be INR 13,990 (US$ 192/€ 165) for
the 4/64 GB version, INR 15,990 (US$ 220/€ 188) for the 6/64 GB variant and the
8/128 GB option will cost INR 17,990 (US$ 250/€ 212). The phone will launch on
October 11 at Midnight, exclusively on Flipkart.
More excitingly, this will be the first Realme
handset to be available outside of India. More details on its global rollout
will be announced in October.
