HMD Global has scheduled an event in London on
October 4th where the company is expected to launch a brand new smartphone
which is rumored to be the successor of the Nokia 7; the Nokia 7.1/ 7.1 Plus.
Now the smartphone has surfaced online in the name of ‘Nokia Phoenix.’
The leaked hands-on image interestingly enough shows
the device in a brand new color and the back reveals dual-rear cameras arranged
similarly as the Nokia 7 Plus. Another leaked hands-on-image shows the device
in a traditional silver color option. It
is also rumored that the device might come in two variants; one with a notch
which is the Nokia 7.1 Plus and another one without the notch which will be the
Nokia 7.1.
As for the specifications, the Nokia 7.1/Plus might
be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 SoC, will have dual-rear cameras and
rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. It is expected to sport a 6-inch Full HD+
display, 4/6GB RAM, 64GB storage with a slot for microSD card.
Though the Chinese version of the Nokia 7.1/ 7.1
Plus might be named as X7, the global version will be launched under Android
One program and there are chanced that it might run on Android 9.0 Pie right
out of the box. Either way, we will know more details in the coming months.
