In Shanghai China, Xiaomi launched the Mi Notebook
Pro 2. It is the upgrade of the Mi Notebook Pro last year. As expected, the new laptop is
equipped with upgraded specs coming from its predecessor. It still comes with a
metal clad body at 16.9 mm slim and 15.6-inch IPS screen with FHD+ 1080 1920 x
1080 resolution and 300 nits of brightness.
But under the hood, the Mi Notebook Pro 2 or the Notebook Pro GTX
Edition now loads with the speedier 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8750H processor and a
dedicated Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 GPU with 6GB video RAM.
It also has a model with Intel Core i7-8550U with Nvidia
GTX-1050 Max-Q graphics and 4GB GDDR5 memory. It also boasts16GB DDR4 RAM and
256GB SSD storage. It also has a variant with Intel Core i5-8250U processor and Nvidia
GTX-1050 Max-Q with 4GB DDR5 RAM. It has 8GB DDR4 RAM and 256GB storage. Both goes with a 60WHr battery
with USB Type-C fast charging support.
The laptops also has a dual-band WiFi 802.11ac,
Bluetooth 4.1, 3x USB 3.0, 1x USB Type-C, Gigabit Ethernet, HDMI 2.0, and a
built-in cooling system. The Mi Notebook Pro 2 also has a backlit keyboard with N-key rollover
of 30 keys and five programmable keys. It also has a UHS-II card slot, and a
fingerprint sensor w/ Windows Hello, and a 6-inch glass trackpad with
multi-gesture support.
The top-end variant is priced at CNY 8,999 while the entry-level model retails at CNY 6,299. All of these new laptops will be
available starting Aug 16. There's no word if it'll be available in other parts
of the world soon.
