In March, Sharp
launched the entry-level but still great looking Sharp Aquos S3 mini, at the
price of 1599 Yuan (US$ 252). That pricing was seemed a little too much for the
specs it packed, so it rapidly dropped to 1499 Yuan a month later. Well,
apparently they are still not selling as expected given that Sharp now dropped
the price to a merely 1199 Yuan, which is around US$ 180.
The Sharp Aquos S3 mini is a smaller version of the
more premium S3, coming with a 5.5-inch full-screen design with a 135% sRGB
wide color gamut, a screen to body ratio of 87.5% and 550nits brightness, which
means it’s extra visible outdoors even on a sunny day.
Given its relatively small 5.5-inch display, full
screen design, the 17:9 aspect ratio and the high STB ratio, the Aquos S3 Mini
is probably one of the best smartphones on the market for one-hand operations.
Plus there’s a front-placed fingerprint scanner for the more nostalgic of you.
Specs wise, the Sharp AQUOS S3 mini is equipped with
a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor, a whopping 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal
storage. Battery capacity is average at 3020mAh, meanwhile color variants go
from Ochre Black and Aurora Blue to Gold.
Sharp’s AQUOS S3 mini is also equipped with a 16MP
rear camera with an aperture of F / 2.0, support for PDAF phase focus and
beauty mode. On the front we find a 20MP selfie snapper which works in
conjunction with an AI intelligent learning algorithm that an create multi-layered effects for portraits
and scenery, making the blurring process look more delicate and natural.
The smartphones is currently available on Jingdong
at just 1199 Yuan (US$ 180), but we hope it’ll be soon available from
international retailers at around the same price.
