Not one, not two, not 3! But, 9 cameras
in total! Light the maker of the L16 camera with 16 lenses, is reportedly
working on a smartphone with numerous sensors. It is definitely more than the
two lenses found on the iPhone X and Galaxy S9+ and the triple Leica camera
setup of the Huawei P20 Pro.
The prototype smartphone of light
incorporates 9 lenses at the Google Pixel 2-like upper portion of its back. It
has one major camera on the middle and eight other cameras with multi-flash
module surrounding it in a circular form. The idea behind this is those lenses
will shoot images simultaneously and then stitch it into one big photo.
The phone design of Light is capable of
capturing 64MP shots with better lowlight performance and sophisticated depth
effects. This could be the phone that could beat the triple-lens setup of
Huawei x Leica in the future.
According to the report of The
Washington Post, Light tapped Foxconn as an investor. This device will be
announced later this year. It is very exciting, but don't expect it to come
cheap.
