Elephone is getting ready to announce a high-end
rugged smartphone -Elephone Soldier- and two short videos surfaced showing the
device being submerged in a fountain, demonstrating its IP68 certification. The
device hasn’t appeared on the company’s website yet, but some information about
its specs are already known.
As we learn from Elephone’s BBK forum, the Soldier
will feature a 5.5″ 2K display with Gorilla Glass on top and will feature
tri-proof protection (water, dust, bumps). There will be a 21MP rear camera
with Sony’s IMX220 sensor and 128GB of internal storage. It is said that it
will come with the Helio X30 SoC but that’s not confirmed yet. There will also
be a big, 5000mAh battery available as well as other features popular among rugged
devices. Right now, Elephone is asking users on Twitter about the features they
prefer as well as about the slogan they should use.
