Vivo has decided to launch a new color variant
of its latest upper-midrange in Taiwan: Vivo X21. The handset has been released
in the Asian country in a new lively hue: Glare Red. The specific variant
released in this color is the one with the in-display fingerprint reader, and
it carries a price tag of 3600 Yuan in Taiwan, which roughly translates into
$554. The device retains the same design and the same specs sheet of the other
color variants already in the market, even though it may look way more
attractive for some people.
Vivo X21 features a shiny glass back and an aluminum
frame, as well as a notched display with a very high screen-to-body ratio. The
screen has a size of 6.28 inches and it shows images at a Full HD+ resolution
of 1080 x 2280 pixels. On the hardware side, it features a midrange Snapdragon
660 chipset, that is an octa-core processor by Qualcomm running at a max clock
frequency of 2.2 GHz. It is supported by 6 GB of RAM and 64 or 128 GB of
internal storage depending on the specific configuration. It even features a
dual camera setup on its back with pretty nice performance.
The dual camera is composed of a 12 MP primary
sensor with a f/1.8 aperture and a secondary 5 MP sensor with a f/2.4 aperture.
The front camera has a 12 MP resolution and a f/2.0 aperture. The front camera
supports facial recognition, an additional authentication system (in case you
do not like the in-display fingerprint reader) which is able to recognize 1024
points for a very safe authentication. The battery has a capacity of 3200 mAh
and it supports fast charging, while the operating system installed out of the
box is Android 8.1 Oreo customized with Funtouch OS 4.0, a custom iteration of
Google’s operating system with several additional features.
