Teclast is a Chinese manufacturer that has been
making tablets for years. They even have a couple of 2-in-1s and laptops in
their product lineup. Ahead of the release of Xiaomi’s Mi Pad 4, Teclast M89
tablet is an alternative which costs less and has some features the Mi Pad 4
will be missing when it launches.
The Teclast M89 has a 7.9-inch display with a 2048 x
1536 resolution giving it a higher ppi than the Mi Pad 4 which has an 8-inch
screen and a 1920 x 1080 resolution. It also has Gorilla Glass covering it.
Powering the M89 is a MediaTek MT8176 2.1GHz
hexa-core processor paired with a PowerVR 6250 GPU. There is 3GB of RAM and
32GB of expandable storage. For optics, there is an 8MP camera on the back and
a 5MP selfie camera.
Teclast has packed the M89 with stereo speakers and
a dedicated amplifier. It has a USB-C
port, a 3.5mm audio jack, Bluetooth 4.0, a MicroSD card slot, and a micro HDMI
cable for connectivity. It also has dual-band WiFi and GPS and runs Android
Nougat. The Teclast M89 is currently available for less than US$ 200 across
various retail stores.
