OWC has this week announced the imminent arrival of
a new price for its 1.0TB Thunderbolt 3 solid state drive (SSD), making it
available for US$ 500. Supporting both Mac and Windows PC the portable external
hard drive has been designed to provide a rugged device for “importing images
on a location shoot, performing live on-stage, editing in-studio, transferring
data between workflows, or transporting music files or family photos for
sharing”.
Offering Thunderbolt 3 with an M.2 (NVMe) SSD allows
the external storage system to provide users with transfer speeds up to
1,800MB/s, up to 3x faster than USB 3.0 SSDs.
