Gigabyte has today announced a new upgrade to their
Gigabyte Brix S mini PC systems which are now powered by a Pentium Silver J5005
SoC (model: GB-BLPD-5005). Gigabyte has announced the addition of two more mini
PC systems to their lineup in the form of the Gigabit Brix S GB-BLCE-4105 which
has a 10W, quad-core Intel Celeron J4105 Gemini Lake processor, and the
GB-BLPD-5005 sports a 10 watt, quad-core Intel Pentium J5005.
The new Gigabyte Brix S mini PC desktops measure 4.7
x 4.4 x 0.5 inches in size and support dual storage, sporting a 2.5 inch drive
bay for a hard drive or SSD and an M.2 2280 slot for a solid state drive.
Internally there are 2 SODIMM slots for DDR4-2400 memory allowing up to 8 GB of
RAM to be added, 1 x USB 3.0 Type-C port, 3 x USB 3.0 Type-A ports, Gigabit
Ethernet, a headset jack, HDMI port, Mini DisplayPort. Connectivity is provided
by support for 802.11ac WiFi and Bluetooth 4.2 and the systems are equipped
with a quad-core “Goldmont Plus” CPU, and faster UHD Graphics 605 iGPU. Wired
networking is care of a Realtek RTL8111HS controller, putting out a GbE
interface.
Unfortunately, no information on pricing or
worldwide availability has been released as yet by GIGABYTE, but as soon as
