LG has today announced the availability of its new
LG 38WK95C Ultrawide FreeSync curved display offering an aspect ratio of 24:10
and uses a resolution of 3840 x 1600 pixels as well as support for AMD’s
FreeSync technology. At the current time LG has not specified the exact variable
refresh rate, but you can expect the details to be made available shortly.
Other features of the ultra-wide display include 300
cd/m^2 brightness, and the sRGB colour is listed in the display’s
specifications with 10 bit (8-bit+FRC) colour. LG also lists the monitor as
supporting HDR10, but the listed specifications don’t seem to back this up and
would properly need more clarification. “To more fully realize content
creators’ vision, this monitor is compatible with industry-standard HDR10 high
dynamic range, supporting specific levels of colour and brightness that exceed
the capabilities of ordinary monitors.”
The LG 38WK95C Ultrawide FreeSync Monitor display
support inputs from HDMI 2.0, DisplayPort 1.2 and USB Type-C, and the monitor
is equipped with dual 10-watt speakers as well as 2 x USB 3.0 ports in the
headphone socket. Expect the new LG FreeSync curved monitor to be made
available to LG resellers both online and via the high street priced at US$ 1,500.
