Gigabyte has today announced the addition of a new
external graphics card enclosure this week which comes factory fitted with an
Radeon RX 580 8GB graphics card with its core clocked at reference clocks of
1257 MHz core and 1340 MHz boost, out of the box. With a software-toggled “OC
Mode” available which makes it easy to boost clock speeds to 1355 MHz, although
the memory stays untouched.
Features of the new RX 580 Gaming BoxExternal
graphics card model: GV-RX580IXEB-8GD, include Thunderbolt 3 plug and play,
Quick Charge (QC 3.0) and Power Delivery (PD 3.0) support, support for the
connection of three USB 3.0 devices and the inclusion of RGB fusion offering
customisable colour lighting with a choice of 16.7 million colours.
Powering the enclosure is a 450W internal PSU with
over 90% efficiency. GIGABYTE claims this meets 80 Plus Gold efficiency
standards, although is not certified with the 80 Plus logo. Display outputs
from the graphics card include three DisplayPort 1.4 and one HDMI 2.0.
Unfortunately, no information on pricing or worldwide availability has been
released as yet by Gigabyte, but as soon as information comes to light, we will
keep you updated as always.
