LG has made available a new 27 inch 4K
Ultra HD monitor complete with AMD’s FreeSync technology offering users a
resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels and HDR 10 support. The LG monitor also
provides a contrast ratio of 1000:1 and 4K viewing at 16:9 with a maximum
brightness of just 350 cd/m². Unfortunately the brightest is even lower than
the lowest HDR standard AMD considers as being HDR capable, which is 400 cd/m².
Although the sRGB 99% Colour Gamut does make up for this lacking brightness in
some respect.
Other features of the new LG 27UK650-W monitor
include a 5 ms response time as well as free and blue-light reduction
technologies. Together with compatibility with the latest HDCP 2.2 copy
protection, so it will display video from 4K streaming services, game consoles
and Ultra HD Blu-ray disc players.
The LG 27UK650-W monitor will be available in a few
days time from January 26th, 2018 onwards priced at US$ 529. Providing
connectivity via 2 x HDMI and 1x DisplayPort connections.
