Peripheral and storage manufacturer LaCie has
unveiled a new external hard drive they have created this week in the form of
the DJI Copilot. Designed specifically for drone pilots and photographers
enabling users to easily transferring footage recorded from drones and cameras.
The rugged portable external hard drive offers 2TB of storage and is compatible
with both iOS and Android smartphones and tablets. Equipped with a handy
Lightning connector that allows the drive to connect directly to your Apple
mobile hardware or microUSB for Android devices.
LaCie explains that the 2TB storage capacity is
capable of holding up to 65 hours of 4K Ultra HD footage @ 30fps or roughly
20,000 RAW photos. Thanks to the devices smartphone support users can playback
video, rename files and delete anything no longer required, directly from their
smartphone screen using the companion Copilot BOSS application. The DJI Copilot
external drive removes the need for a PC connection to download footage and can
be used while away from your home or office. Allowing cameras to be connected
directly to the storage device with a status screen alerting you when a
transfer is complete.
Priced at US$ 349 the LaCie DJI Copilot external
storage will be available to purchase during the spring months of 2018
throughout the US, although no further details have been announced regards
