Anyone searching for a high-resolution 5K monitor
may be interested to know that Iiyama has this week made available its new 5K
Prolite XB2779QQS 27 inch IPS monitor offering users a resolution of 5120 x
2880 pixels just € 799. The XB2779QQS Iiyama monitor can display 14.7 megapixels
on the screen, that’s seven times more than a Full HD monitor.
As well as
offering a maximum brightness of 440 cd/m2 and a contrast ratio rated at
1200:1. Unfortunately for this price point, the monitor provides an 8-bit
screen so no support for HDR. Although the display is equipped with three HDMI
ports offering 3840 x 2160 pixels and 60 Hz. If you would like to take
advantage of the 5120 x 2880 pixels at 60 Hz, then you will need to use the
included DisplayPort 1.3 which provides sufficient bandwidth.

throughout Europe, which could mean that when it arrives in the US, it should

who have yet to announce its arrival date in the US.
