At CES 2018, Dell has been showcasing their latest
Dell XPS 15 2-in-1 hybrid, laptop, tablet which will be launching later this
year and available to purchase throughout the United States during April 2018
priced at roughly US$ 1,300.
Equipped with an InfinityEdge 4K Ultra HD display
the Dell XPS 15 laptop is fitted with a 360-degree hinge that allows the screen
to fold back on the keyboard transforming the device into a touchscreen tablet
when required. To complement the touchscreen of the Dell XPS 15 laptop, Dell
has also created a Premium Active Pen, which is available to purchase
separately and provides a pressure sensitivity 4,096 as well as tilt
functionality for digital sketching.
Internally the XPS 15 is equipped with an 8th
generation Intel Core-i processor in the form of a Kaby Lake-G chip support by
integrated graphics in the form of AMD’s Vega M GPU with 4GB of dedicated
second-generation high bandwidth memory. Options for installing either 8 or
16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of solid-state drive (SSD) are also available, and
the included rechargeable battery is capable of providing up to 15 hours of use
on a single charge.
Supplied running Microsoft’s latest Windows 10
operating system the hybrid laptop supports DirectX 12 and the cooling system
uses GORE Thermal Insulation technology, a silica aerogel that allows the
system to dissipate heat without the need for additional fans, providing a
quiet working environment even when the processor is under the heaviest of
loads.
