With the recent unveiling of the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 as
the new holy grail and bar for the bezel-less smartphones the smaller chinese
brands feel the need to respond somehow. We have seen fairly successful
bezel-less models from Bluboo in the past with Bluboo S1 and Bluboo S8 phones,
but they are apparently working on upgraded versions of these to get ready for
the “full screen display 2.0” era.
First one will be the Bluboo S8+, which will
continue with the 18:9 display design, but adopts 6-inch Sharp HD screen.
Performance-wise there will be 4 GB RAM + 64 GB ROM onboard along 3600 mAh
battery and the 360 OS. We can also expect the processor and camera getting
some updates, but nothing substantial has been revealed yet.
The more ambitious model will be the Bluboo S2 with
also the 6-inch display and 18:9 aspect ratio, but with 4-camera design. Front
pair should be 13MP+8MP sporting Sony IMX258 sensors and the rear 16MP+8MP
combo with Sony IMX298. There is a high possibility of an optical fingerprint
sensor being installed in the phone and Bluboo are even allegedly working on
the mythical fingeprint scanner built-in the screen itself.
Well it’s surely a good idea to keep an eye on these
new models and we will keep you informed about any new developments. Or you can
try keeping track yourself using the official Bluboo website.
