A new, affordable tablet is expected to be unveiled
by Samsung in the coming weeks. The Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017) leaked a few times
in the past, but the South Korean company is still mum on the launch of the
slate.
Today, we've learned another tiny detail about the
upcoming tablet. It appears that Samsung has had a change of heart and decided
to launch the tablet under the different name. It looks like that tablet is
currently referred to as the Samsung Galaxy Tab A2 S, which is a bit more
confusing than the previous name. The model number (SM-T380 / SM-T385) remains
the same, and so are the specs that we reported about in the last few weeks.
The Galaxy Tab A2 S is said to feature an 8-inch
display with 1200 x 800 pixels resolution, along with an 8-megapixel
rear-facing camera and a secondary 5-megapixel selfie snapper.
Also, the tablet will be powered by a 1.4GHz
quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 427 processor, 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal
storage. No word on price and availability, but it wouldn't be a surprise to
see the Galaxy Tab A2 S being unveiled ahead of IFA 2017 trade fair.
