When it comes to security on your computers,
obviously being careful with what you download and click on the internet is
important. There are also other security measures such as anti-virus monitoring
tools, and also software that will help encrypt your files and emails so that
even if hackers were to gain access to your files, they wouldn’t be able to
read it.
However if you’re looking for physical security,
Lenovo has announced the ThinkPad T470 and T470S laptops, both of which have
milspec certifications, and the ThinkPad T470 actually takes things one step
further by adding physical security measures such as a fingerprint sensor and
an IR camera to enable Windows Hello logins.
Other than that, both laptops appear to be quite
similar in specs as both will feature 14-inch Full HD touch displays and the
latest Intel Cor i technology. The T470S will support up to 24GB of RAM and 1GB
of PCIe SSD storage, while the T470 will come with up to 32GB of RAM, and up to
1TB of OPAL2PCIe-NVMe M.2 storage.
Battery life for the T470S is rated at around 10
hours, while the T470 is said to have been configured to last up to 18 hours.
The T470S is priced at US$ 1,149 while the T470 will retail starting at US$ 949 and
both are expected to be made available come January, 2017.
