ZTE launched the successor to their Axon 7, the Axon
7S this week. And just three days after the launch, a new device, the ZTE V0840
has been certified by TENAA. Photos and specs of the phone have been listed on
TENAA.
The ZTE V0840 has three capacitive buttons on the
front for home, back and recent apps. On the top bezel lies the front snapper.
On the back, it sports, what looks like a dual camera setup with LED flash,
below which lies the fingerprint scanner. What’s interesting is the presence of
four physical buttons on this phone. On the left side lies the volume rocker,
and on the right, 3 physical buttons. What will these extra keys be used for?
Probably like the convenience key that is found on BlackBerry devices or maybe
even a camera shutter key.
The ZTE V0840 sports a 5 inch
720p display with a quad core processor clocked at 1.4 GHz, but it isn’t
specified which processor it has. The phone has 2GB/3GB/4GB variants and
16GB/32GB onboard storage which is expandable. The rear has an 8MP
shooter(possibly dual sensors) and the front has a 5MP shooter. It is powered
by a 2,500 mAh battery and runs Android Nougat 7.1.1 with ZTE’s UI on top.
The smartphone is reported to be available in 4
color variants, Dark Night Gray, Glacier Blue, Green and Elegant Gold. There is
no word on when this phone will be launched.
