In addition to the other hardware which has been
unveiled by Zotac during this year’s Computex 2017 technology show, the company
has also created a new Thunderbolt 3 External Box.
Unlike the graphic stock the Thunderbolt 3 External
Box accepts Thunderbolt 3 (40 Gb/s) input together with a 120W power-supply,
but no support for external high powered graphics cards.
Instead the box is fitted with a PCI-Express 3.0 x16
slot that is capable of housing graphics cards that receive power directly from
the slot rather than any further connection. Providing 32 Gb/s M.2 NVMe slot,
which you don’t on the dock, and four downstream USB 3.0 ports.
Unfortunately no information on pricing or worldwide
availability has been released as yet by Zotac, but as soon as information
comes to light we will keep you updated as always.
