With the Meizu Pro 7 just over the horizon, we are
getting a better idea of what the unreleased smartphone would look like. A
couple of days ago, we saw a leak of a red back panel that confirmed the leaked
renders of the Meizu Pro 7 with a secondary display on its back.
Today, a new live photo of the Meizu Pro 7 has
leaked, showing what the e-ink display on the back looks like. The photo shows
the back of a black unit (which makes it harder to see) with the backlit e-ink
rear display showing the time, date, weather, and a couple of shortcuts for the
camera and dialer. Right above this display is the rumored dual-camera setup.
While we’ve seen other smartphones with either
secondary displays or always-on displays, we’ve yet to see one with an e-ink
display on the back that isn’t the Yota Phone (2). Though given the small size
of the display, we can assume you probably won't want to use this screen to
read books.
As for specs, the Pro 7 would have a 5.2-inch AMOLED
screen with 3D touch capabilities. Powering the Meizu device is rumored to be
the MediaTek Helio X30 paired with 6GB of RAM.
