Vivo unveiled Vivo Y55s, an affordable smartphone aimed towards emerging
markets, equipped with interesting specs and decent battery life.
Its powered by a Snapdragon 425 SoC, housing four
ARM Cortex-A53 cores clocked at up to 1.4 GHz, an Adreno 308 graphics chip, and
3GB of RAM, along with 16GB of storage and microSD slot. The mid-range
smartphone packs a 5.2 inch HD display that is protected by 2.5D glass and
offers decent protection, it also offers full dual SIM support, as well as 4G
LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS, and Bluetooth 4.1 connectivity.
On the back, it has a 13MPixel main camera with LED
flash and in front, just above the display there’s a 5MPixels selfie camera for
your basic… social media sharing needs.
The Vivo Y55s runs on Android 6.0.1 with the
Funtouch 3.0 OS proprietary UI sprinkled on top, and packs a 2,730 mAh battery
for your average everyday use. It will be available for purchase in India from
February 26, when prospective buyers will have the option of choosing
between 2 color variants: Space Grey and
Crown Gold. The smartphone will be priced at Rs. 12,490 (approximately US$ 187).
