At CES 2017 Consumer Electronics Show, 3D Sound Labs has presented, which develops consumer-related
products for 3D-sound playback, depending on the user's position in space. The
manufacturer showed 3D-headphones and a special device, granting any ordinary
headphones ability to determine the position of the head in space. Also, 3D
Sound Labs develops key technologies for virtual and augmented reality,
available to other manufacturers under license.
3D Sound Labs has developed software called 3D
Audio, which allows to make a sound space. It is based on a new concept called
the High-Order Ambisonics and reduces the load on the processor, essential for
the mobile devices.
Additionally, 3D Sound Labs operates in personal
audio. Due to the anatomical features of each person hears the same sounds in
different ways. This is unlike the shape of the ears and a variety of other
factors that affect the nature of the incoming sound. This is largely dependent
on the sound source position in space relative to the person. Therefore, 3D
Sound Labs specialists conduct large-scale research program, in which they
intend to create a personalized filter to each individual on the basis of a
series of photos taken with a conventional smartphone. This should provide a
fully personalized sound.
Headphones 3D Sound One, developed by 3D Sound Labs,
doing sound space relative to the user. They are equipped with sensors tracking
the head position in space, able to catch the slightest movement. This allows
the user to hear sounds like in real life. In conventional headphones we hear
the sound is always on the right or the left, but the 3D Sound One sound change
depending on how the user is turned to the sound source.
Those who already have a high-quality headphones, it
is not necessary to buy 3D Sound One. The company has developed a special
accessory called 3D Sound One Module. It is attached to the headband headphones
and all at the expense of 9-axis sensor determines the position of the user's
head in the space.
