The PC gaming scene just went into overdrive, at
least according to Dell. With four new gaming laptops at CES 2017, joining
other gaming PCs from other PC makers, that might just be the case indeed.
Coinciding with Intel’s latest announcement of a fresh new and more powerful
batch of its 7th gen “Kaby Lake” core processors, these four new Inspiring and
Alienware gaming laptops will put Intel’s claims to the real test. With four
configurations, and their matching prices, to choose from, Dell is aiming to
cater to every gamer’s needs and budget.
The Inspiron is usually associated more with
business-oriented laptops, but with the Inspiron 15 Gaming, Dell’s brand is
breaking out into a new market. Alienware fans need not yet be worried, as this
Inspiron is aiming for a rather specific audience: “price-sensitive” gamers.
Despite having a 7th gen Intel Core i5 paired with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050
or 1050 Ti, the Inspiron 15 Gaming only asks for a measly $799 price tag. OK,
it’s not exactly cheap, but it’s cheaper than what’s coming next.
Despite the small size, the new Alienware 13 packs
quite a punch. A virtual punch, that is. Dell boasts that it is the first
gaming laptop of its size, 13.3 inches to be precise, to be VR-ready, thanks to
the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 heating things up inside. Strangely enough, Dell is
also offering configurations of the Alienware 15 and Alienware 17 with GeForce
GTX 1050 Ti graphics.
The Inspiron 13 Gaming goes on sale on 5th January,
exclusively from Best Buy and Dell itself. The Alienware 13 also starts on the
same day with a US$ 999 price tag. The models of the Alienware 15 and Alienware 17
with GTX 1050 Ti cost US$ 1,199 and US$ 1,299 respectively and won’t be on sale until
12th January.
