Play 2 & Play 2C
The
Chinese smartphone manufacturer, TCL has recently launched two new budget
mid-range smartphones in China called as TCL Play 2 and Play 2C. Both the
devices run on Android 5.1 Lollipop OS and supports dual sim dual standby with
4G-LTE connectivity. The smartphones also include a fingerprint sensor that can
unlock the device in 0.5 seconds and also has an IR blaster for remotely
controlling home appliances.

The
Play 2 comes with a 5-inch HD (1280×720 pixels) On-Cell IPS display offering a
pixel density of 294ppi. Under the hood, it comes powered by Snapdragon 617
64-bit octa-core processor clocked at 1.5 GHz coupled with Adreno 405 GPU and
2 GB RAM. The device has 16 GB of internal storage that can be further expanded
using a microSD card slot upto 32 GB. It sports a 13 MP rear camera with LED
flash, f/2.0 aperture and a 5 MP front snapper for video calling and selfie
images.
The
smartphone along with 4G-LTE support also includes basic connectivity options
like Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi, GPS/A-GPS and a microUSB port. It comes backed by a
2500 mAh battery that can easily last for an entire day on mixed usage. The
dimensions of the handset measure 143.2 x 72.2 x 8.5 mm and weighs 145 grams.
The Play 2 will come in White, Champagne Gold and Cherry Pink color options and
will be available for purchase in China by the end of this month priced at 899
Yuan (US$ 140).

The
Play 2C flaunts the same 5-inch HD on-Cell display as seen in the Play 2
smartphone. The device comes equipped with Snapdragon 410 64-bit quad-core
processor clocked at 1.2 GHz paired with Adreno 306 GPU, 2 GB RAM, 16 GB storage
and microSD card slot for expansion upto 32 GB. It features standard connectivity
options like Wi-Fi, GPS/A-GPS, Bluetooth 4.1 and microUSB port.
The
device sports an 8 MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, LED flash and 1080p video
recording support. On the front, also it has an 8 MP snapper with LED flash to
capture perfect selfie images. The handset comes backed by a smaller 2000mAh
battery, and its dimensions are 140.9 x 71.05 x 8.58 mm weighing around 145
grams. The Play 2C is priced at 699 Yuan (US$ 110) and will be available in
White and Champagne Gold color variants. The device will be available for
pre-order in China starting December 10th and goes on sale from December 18th.
