Samsung Galaxy J1 (2016)
The Samsung Galaxy J series helped prop
Samsung up this year, more so than the four high-end models that the company
has been promoting heavily. According to a tweet from @S_leak, it appears that
Sammy is going to bump the specs of the entry-level Samsung Galaxy J1 for the
Samsung Galaxy J1 (2016). For example, @S_leak says that the display will
increase in size from 4.3-inches on this year's model, to 4.5-inches next year.
The resolution, at 480 x 800, will remain the same.
The tweet from @S_leak states that the
Galaxy J (2016) will be powered by the unannounced Exynos 3457 chipset. The
latter contains a quad-core CPU and the Mali-T720 GPU. 1 GB of RAM is inside and
Android 5.1.1 is pre-installed. The OG Galaxy J1 is driven by a dual-core
1.2 GHz CPU with the Mali-T400 GPU. 512 MB of RAM is aboard.
The original Galaxy J1 was launched last
February, so it wouldn't be too far out of the question to expect a sequel to
be unveiled soon. Still, we do suggest taking this story with the proverbial
grain of salt. Perhaps we will soon see the Galaxy J1 (2016) certified by the
FCC, or TENAA.
